It all started back in the early '80s with a hot glue gun …
I have never considered myself an artist — just a highly creative person. For some reason I have always believed that to be an “artist” you needed to be able to paint or draw, and I don’t do either.
Once I discovered silversmithing and glass — working with precious metals and fused glass — there was no turning back for me. Though I’ve worked with fiber, furniture and found objects; natural materials and wax; it is metal and glass, however, that has captured my imagination like no other mediums. I have always been drawn to color and texture and working with metal and glass comes quite naturally to me. At my workbench I suppose now, I finally consider myself an artist.
Along with being an artist I am a wife, mother of two beautiful girls, and I have a full-time career. Now that my girls are older, it is a true gift to include them in creating several of the beautiful pieces you'll find in my shop.
I have traditionally sold my pieces only around the holidays at craft shows and bazaars, but after hearing so many friends and customers tell me, “You need to sell this full time!” I finally listened. When I found Etsy, it seemed to be the perfect platform for me.
